Circle of Competence This article talks about why it’s important to know your strengths and use them to your advantage. The central idea is that you should be playing the game you are best at and if you play games where other people have the aptitudes and you don’t, you’re going to lose.
Webemp If you are a regular reader, you know I am big fan of old ‘nostalgic’ software. Winamp is one such software. I bet you have probably used it too as your main player at some point (as Windows Media Player was so bad). Here is a web-based Winamp clone. It even has a working equalizer!
Weighing a Car with Tire Pressures This is an attempt to weigh a car using just its tire pressure. Do you think this is generally applicable to all cars/wheel-types?

The JavaScript’s Double-Bang (!!) Operator And How It’s Misused Do you know about the “!!” operator in JavaScript? I have (mis)used it very heavily to cast an expression into a Boolean, although I understand how JavaScript handles truthy/falsy expressions. It’s more of a personal preference. This article talks about how it’s misused in most codebases.
I have been following this game’s development since it’s beginning. It’s a cute little toy game where you can build island towns with no real objective. The great thing about this game is how it automatically builds streets, houses, stairs, etc. The algorithm behind it all is really really impressive and more like magic, even to me (a developer). I am having fun playing this one and can’t wait to see how it evolves.
The game is currently in early access on Steam for $6. Check out some gameplay below:
Yaas! Keep the nostalgic software/UI coming!
