Are we losing our ability to remember? The idea that our phone, internet, laptops are an extension of our brain is scary. We are increasingly relying on these devices and services for our memories instead of our brain. I remember reading a research that if you take a photo of something, your brain essentially offloads that memory. This is fine as long as the tech or the companies behind it don’t betray us.
Speaking of our minds and tech companies, I would like to talk a bit about the new trend of logos most products have switched to these days:
This is getting a bit ridiculous. The modern icons (and design systems) are not only weirdly complex but very generic, not fun and plain bad. Here are a few classic logos for comparison (taken from this thread):
