AI Handwriting, Browsing Web with Keyboard and more

It’s Memon M̶o̶n̶d̶a̶y̶s̶ Tuesday!

These few weeks have been a bit busy for me. So much that I couldn’t send this newsletter on time. But here are a few highlights from this week.

Look ma, no mouse: Vimium
This browser extension allows you to browse web by just using keyboard. The best part is, you don’t have to remember the shortcuts (which I am very bad at). Just press “F” on any page and it will highlight every link on the page with its own shortcut key. Give it a shot!

Generate realistic handwriting with neural networks
This is a nice demo of generating handwriting using neural networks. Be sure to try different styles from the top dropdown. I really like the animation part too:

I was watching this beautiful teardown of PS5. I came across this subreddit of neatly organized disassembled stuff, which I like very much for some reason.

How Does a Gas Nozzle Work
Ever since I started filing gas in my car myself*, I had always wondered how the nozzle knows when the tank is full and avoids spillage. This video explains the complicated design of a gas nozzle.

* Most US gas stations don’t have filling attendant. I, coming from Pakistan, am not used to filling the gas myself.

Live map of “good morning/night” tweets
This is such a cool realtime visualization of people wishing morning/night around the world as their day starts or ends.

They should just make all functions async by default.
