It’s Memon Mondays!
This newsletter is my experiment to share all the cool things I find during the week and share them with my like-minded friends.
Life is Short - Paul Graham — This essay might seems to be stating pretty obvious stuff but it is rich in realizations that come with age.
Mac bug for 10+ years: "In some cases the audio balance may unexpectedly drift towards the left or right channel. This can happen if you rapidly press the volume up or down keys while the computer's microprocessor is under heavy load"
Haven: turn old Android phones into security cameras
Dreams: A video game that lets you make video games
Virtual Machines (QEMU) on iOS — I actually sat down and compiled this yesterday. It works but it’s very slow obviously; takes a few minutes just to boot anything, (it’s emulating x86 CPU instructions on ARM). It’s also buggy as it’s very early in development phase. Still mind blowing to be able to boot Ubuntu (or Android!) on an iPhone/iPad.
Throwaway Code — Discusses a common pattern: writing throwaway code to test an idea. But many times that code doesn’t get rewritten and ends up in production (I am very much guilty of that 😅).
TIP OF THE WEEK
Try `cal` command in your terminal:
It’s my go-to way to quickly see the calendar. Here are a few more usage examples.
That’s it friends! Have a great week. Be safe, make good choices, and get enough rest.
