It’s Memon Mondays!
This newsletter is my experiment to share all the cool things I find during the week and share them with my like-minded friends.
Who is Facebook's mysterious “Lan Tim 2”? — This is an example of how much data Facebook collects about users. Almost all sites online embed the “facebook pixel” into their site, this combined with advertisers manually uploading CSV of your contact information, covers a lot of your activities (both offline and online). Luckily, they have this tool to see what data they have on you.
DuckDuckGo is good enough for regular use — I started using DDG in place of Google about 6 months back and I am impressed. The results are getting better over time. But when I am searching something really specific and can’t find it, I just use their Bangs feature to use google search. Google results are full of ads that are almost indistinguishable from their results. In contrast DuckDuckGo’s results page is pretty minimal and it doesn’t track you.
Why to Start a Startup in a Bad Economy — A good essay by PG from the last crash, still very relevant considering the current market.
Debuggex: A visual regex debugger — And if you; like me, don’t know much regex then this site is cool to learn it.
GAME OF THE WEEK
This indie game called Hidden in Plain Sight. It’s a fun local multiplayer game. The aim is to blend into the crowd of AI characters and eliminate the other players before they eliminate you!
I originally had this on Xbox360 but it was just released on Nintendo Switch.
That’s it friends! Have a great week. Stay safe, maintain social distance, and wash your hands.
Also inbox me if you got something cool to share!
